Stuck on a Meowdoku level? Get the answer

This free solver gives you the answer to any Meowdoku board in a blink. Upload a screenshot of the puzzle and the solver reads the colored regions and shows the answer automatically when it is confident, or paint the board by hand. Either way you get every cat's position at once, and you can step through the logic if you would rather learn the trick than copy the solution.

How to use the Meowdoku solver

  1. Upload a screenshot of your puzzle, or choose your board size, from 4×4 up to 11×11, and paint the regions yourself.
  2. Pick a color from the palette, then tap or drag across the board to paint each colored region exactly like your puzzle. Use the eraser to fix a mistake.
  3. Press Solve. The solver places a cat in every row, column and region. If the board has more than one solution it tells you.
  4. Want to learn the logic instead of just the answer? Press Next step and the cat explains one deduction at a time.

Help for any level

The solver does not look answers up in a list. It works out the solution from the board you give it, so it helps with any level: one of the 300 levels on this site, today's puzzle, or a board from another cat sudoku game. For a gentler nudge, press Hint in the game, or read the Meowdoku tips and each level page, which names the hardest step that level needs.

How the solver works

The solver tries one cat per row, top to bottom, and drops any square that shares a column or color with an earlier cat or touches it, even diagonally. It backtracks as soon as a row has no legal square, so even a 10×10 board is solved in a blink. It runs right in your browser, and your puzzle is never uploaded.

Every region must be painted, and a board of size N needs exactly N regions with one color each. Regions should be one connected piece. If one is not, the solver warns you but still tries.

Solver FAQ

Does this have the official Meowdoku answers?

No. This is an independent fan-made site and it does not store official answers. The solver calculates the solution for whatever board you give it, as long as the board is valid.

Can I upload a screenshot of my level?

Yes. Upload a screenshot and the solver will try to read the board for you. Check that the regions look right, fix any cell by painting it, then press Solve.

Why does the solver say my board has more than one solution?

A proper Meowdoku level has exactly one solution. If the solver finds several, a region was probably painted with the wrong color. Compare the board with your puzzle and try again.

Is the Meowdoku solver free?

Yes, it is free, has no ads and runs in your browser, so your puzzle is never uploaded.
